The Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) setting plays a crucial role in data transmission over a network. It denotes the largest size of a packet that a network protocol can transmit. When configuring a Network Video Recorder (NVR) — a device that records video from network-connected cameras — managing MTU can be vital due to the following reasons:
